BCIS 1305:  BUSINESS COMPUTER APPLICATIONS

Syllabus

 

I.                   COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course gives students an understanding of computer terminology, hardware, software, operating systems, and information systems relating to the business environment.  The main focus of this course is on business applications of software including word processing, spreadsheet, database, presentation graphics and business-oriented utilization of the Internet.  Keyboarding proficiency is recommended.

This course fulfills the Kilgore College computer core curriculum requirement.

 

III.             REQUIRED MATERIALS

Textbooks:    Microsoft Office First Course Premium Edition by Ann Shaffer

Supplies:        Flash drive

 

IV.              STUDENT LEARNING OUTCOMES

A.

The student will learn computer terminology, hardware, systems and application software, and the Internet.

The student will design, create, save, edit, query, create forms and reports and print a database table, query, form and report using database software.

This course will help the student learn logical reasoning in problem solving and learn how technology affects their life.
